"My life long goal is to found a visual arts school for disadvantaged youth."
"As I unravel the twine to refine my unique voice I research, evolve and explore the inclusion of new materials, the mastery of new techniques and the understanding of new themes. My most recent themes reflect me research in the spiritual high culture and the Archetypes of the anima, animus and the hero. The dominant figures in my works take on the roles of the universal woman and man in our collective unconsciousness. My current series of works subtly illustrate spiritual, religious and mythological stories using the universal nude anatomy with underlying cultural reference. My evolving goal is to articulate even more so the viewer a sense of transcendent movement through time and space."
Cullen participates in The October Gallery, Essence Festival and The New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival. His works have been shown in The New Orleans African American Museum and reside in the homes of many private collectors. Cullen is currently attending the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston.
